Meridian Hills.
Small included town since 1937, framed by Holliday Park and Williams Creek.
The lowdown
Meridian Hills is its own small town, incorporated in 1937 and still an included town inside Indy. It sits about eight miles north of downtown, roughly between 64th and 71st Streets, College Avenue and Spring Mill Road, with Williams Creek winding through. Growth took off after the Meridian Street bridge opened in the 1930s. Homes range from the 1920s Wellington Heights plat to 1940s Sherwood Village. Strict zoning kept shops out, so we head next door to Broad Ripple to eat.
