Westfield.
Founded in 1834, now home to Grand Park and a brand-new downtown plaza.
The lowdown
Westfield sits north of Carmel, about 25 miles up US-31 from downtown Indy. It was founded in 1834, and the city still celebrates that with Lantern Days every spring. The big names here are Grand Park, a 400-acre sports campus, and Grand Junction Plaza, a downtown park with an amphitheater and a winter ice ribbon. The Monon and Midland Trace trails meet here. Homes lean newer, with plenty of new-construction neighborhoods and fresh apartments downtown.
Our top 5
Five things we love in Westfield.
- Coffee
The Spark
Opened in 2025 inside The Union on Jersey Street. Grab a latte and walk across to Grand Junction Plaza.
- BBQ
Big Hoffa's Smokehouse Bar-B-Que
Award-winning local barbecue and an easy stop after a long tournament day at Grand Park.
- Park
Grand Junction Plaza
Downtown's front yard: summer concerts at the amphitheater, then skating on the ice ribbon in winter.
- Sports campus
Droplight Grand Park
400 acres of fields and diamonds, plus Colts training camp in summer. Check the schedule and catch a practice.
- Food hall
Westfield Collective
Six local kitchens, self-pour beer and wine walls, and sand volleyball right by Grand Park. An easy pick for a group.
